The Quickest Way to Lose Weight by Eliminating One Thing

The quickest way to lose weight for me was something unexpected. It didn’t come from starving myself or military exercises. It came from changing this one part of my diet.
I started losing weight effortlessly when I eliminated or limited the amount of animal protein I consumed. Now, before you start saying there’s no way you can go vegetarian, I’ve got 3 reasons that say you can… and probably should.
3 Reasons to Limit/Eliminate Meat from Your Diet
1. Calorie Density
Did you know that meat has a lot of calories compared to vegetables, beans, legumes, and grains? If you compared one pound of lean ground beef to a can of garbanzo beans, you’d save yourself 276 calories.
Do that over the course of two meals per day, lunch and dinner, and you’ve already shaved off 552 calories from your daily caloric intake. Over the course of a week, you’d lose a pound just making that one change!
Of course, if you’d like to lose weight faster, add in some exercise to burn fat 5-6 days a week, and you are on track to lose 2 pounds a week! Not bad, for making one change in your diet!
2. Chemicals
I never knew about how much chemicals are in the meat we eat. But, whatever was in the food the animal ate, you get to eat it too.
For example, a lot of the feed that cows eat are pumped full of hormones, antibiotics, and pesticides. The hormones help the animal grow faster in a shorter amount of time. The antibiotics help the animal from getting sick. And, the pesticides are used to eliminate the pests that can kill the food that are used to feed the animals.
So, since the animal ingested all of these chemicals, you get to eat them too. I don’t know about you, but I’d like to limit and/or eliminate these chemicals from getting into my body.
3. Over-consumption
Americans consume a lot of meat, 4 times more than we did 50 years ago. Why is that? Do our bodies need more meat today than we did 50 years ago? I don’t think so.
There is a problem with consuming meat in excess. It can lead to high cholesterol, heart disease, diabetes, and obesity.
Plus, the devastating effects of livestock production has a negative effect on our environment. Problems arise like soil erosion, water pollution, and air pollution. If you really wanted to help the environment, it would be more helpful to not eat meat for one meal a week, than it would be to buy a hybrid vehicle!
Experiment with Less Meat
Try eating less meat slowly. For one meal per week, don’t eat animal protein. Instead of grilled chicken, try black beans. Or if you don’t like beans, try lentils.
There is a lot of advertising for meat, that we don’t realize that foods like green vegetables have protein! Did you know that? I used to think that meat was the only source of protein! That’s very good marketing!
The truth is if you eat enough calories following a sound nutrition guide, you are getting enough protein. I’m not talking about eating french fries and potato chips all day. I’m talking about food that is good for you: fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, legumes, beans, and whole grains.
Going vegetarian is hard for most people especially if you are used to eating meat. Heck, if you are the kind that orders a “meat lovers” pizza, it may be almost close to impossible.
But consider the above. You don’t have to eliminate it altogether, but be more conscious of how much meat you consume. And, explore the other sources of protein.
You may find through this little experiment that the quickest way to lose weight is to limit the meat you eat. Who knows, you might enjoy the way you feel eating food that is good for your body, and helps you lose the pregnancy weight with ease.
